Stylish leisurewear & the sporty trend for SS13

A few days ago, Grazia tipped that Sports Luxe will be one of the hottest trends for Spring/Summer 2013. They told us the look was seen on runways all across the fashion world – from Paul Smith to Lacoste; from Richard Nicoll to Thomas Tait and beyond.

But we’re no strangers of sportswear-as-fashion, this is nothing new!

Just take a look back to 2012 when Marie Claire predicted that the “Sports Fan” trend would be big news for Summer:

Her urban leisurewear is hinged on techie fabrics, sleek track pants and high performance footwear. She can do smart, but only with modern mesh and exposed zips. This girl has abs and attitude.

Now rewind to Dec 2010, Elle noted that many designers, including Marni, Acne and Ohne Titel took inspiration from sportswear for their upcoming Spring 2011 collection; in particular, these designers sent wetsuit material, swimming-style caps and track shorts down the runway.
