The monochrome trend is set to be one of the biggest in spring / summer 2013, promising sleek styles matched with fabulous graphic prints worn in bold ways.
As Grazia states, the monochrome trend can be worn by combining stripes, geometric shapes, checks and zigzag prints with different length pieces: cropped tops, short skirts, long jackets – as long as you’re wearing black and white, anything goes!
Monochrome trend inspiration:
Take inspiration from Marc Jacobs, Giles, Balmain, Alexander Wang and Topshop Unique’s runway shows.
Also, inspiration can be taken from River Island’s newest ‘Monochrome’ collection, which launched in stores and online today. RI cite New York as the inspiration for their new collection, taking inspiration from the pencil dresses, tailored blazers and court shoes from the Uptown area of New York, but the sporty sweatshirts, skater skirts and studded loafers synonym with the Downtown area are responsible for the remainder of the collection.
